From touring Romania and Hungary with the acclaimed Citrus Singers to sharing his story on stage at Convocation, Emilio Pichardo has spent his time at Citrus College chasing two passions — music and history — with his sights set on inspiring the next generation the way his mentor, Doug Austin, has inspired him.

A graduate of Temple City High School, Emilio is currently double majoring in music and history. He is also a member of the Citrus Singers, who recently traveled to Romania and Hungary as part of an educational performance tour.

After graduating from Citrus College, Emilio plans to transfer to California State University, Fullerton, and use his degree to follow in the footsteps of Austin, the group's director.

"It is a dream of mine to not only teach others music and history, but to inspire people to pursue their passions and to dream," Emilio said.
